There is nothing like the taste of fresh walleye at shore lunch. The Lake Despair, Footprint and Jackfish Lake system has been called one of the best natural walleye producing fisheries in the Rainy River District.

Lake Despair Lodge is host to the annual Castin' for Cash live release Bass tournament held the first weekend in July. A field of 55 teams fishes for a total of $12,000 in prize money and prizes.
